ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Electricity is essential to modern life, both at home and on the job. Many people work around electricity but are not qualified to directly handle electrical components or in other words, not allowed to be potentially exposed to live electrical parts. As a source of power, electricity is accepted without much thought to the hazards. Perhaps because it is such a familiar surrounding, it is often not treated with the respect it deserves. The primary objective of this presentation is for employees to gain an understanding of the basic concepts of electrical safety-related work practices. In order to appreciate the hazards of electricity we will discuss how electricity works, how it causes injury and most importantly how to prevent injury to oneself. This information will increase employees’ awareness of the importance of following safe methods to decrease risks of injury.
